Skill-sharer Session: Fundraising & Budgeting

27 January, 2023

Founders of Flourish Mentors, our pilot charity partner in a skill-sharing session with Rich James from TwoFirst

We understand the importance of having a robust fundraising strategy in place, especially for new and smaller charities. It is one of the most challenging and critical requirements to ensure sustainability. It wasn't a surprise therefore when this area was prioritised for support by our pilot Charity Partner, Flourish Mentors. We enlisted the support of our brilliant Skill-Sharer, Rich James from Twofirst  who led an open and in-depth support session to help Flourish Mentors take their first strong steps towards creating a fundraising strategy, budget and longer-term vision.

A friendly and focused exchange of ideas exploring their key strengths led to some key take-homes and short and long term goals. By the end of the session, the founders of Flourish Mentors were more confident and had a better understanding of how to navigate the fundraising landscape - precisely what the Pearce Foundation aims to facilitate for small charities. We were delighted with their feedback!

The Pearce Foundation not only successfully matched us with someone with a skill set we were lacking, but the tone of the meeting was open, non-judgemental and very conducive to deep thinking and learning. Overall the experience was both an awakening yet nurturing experience. This balance is often hard to strike but the Pearce Foundation managed to do it beautifully.
