The Pearce Foundation hosted and participated in Small Charity Research Project

We were delighted to host and participate alongside our charity partners in the Fair Collective and NCVO small charity research project, facilitated by Frédérique Lambrakis-Haddad from Flourish Mentors. It was an insightful morning exploring what small charities really need to grow sustainably and thrive.

With 163,959 voluntary organisations in the UK, 96% are small charities facing challenges such as the ongoing cost of living crisis, fewer volunteers, and increasing demands for services. Small charities strive to fill the gap of dwindling community services, and The Pearce Foundation is proud to champion these leaders who work tirelessly to improve their local communities.

We had an in-depth discussion on pragmatic ways small charities could be better supported across the UK.

Ideas and experiences were shared around the tables on various issues, from legal frameworks and funding challenges to juggling many roles and creating time for strategic planning. There was a real feeling of understanding, shared experiences, and support. We left feeling inspired about our collective impact and grateful for having the opportunity to have our voices heard.

We look forward to sharing highlights from the full report from Fair Collective/NCVO and thank them for this opportunity to support those who support others.
